Damascus: Opposition retakes initiative, re-controls Abbasiyeen Bus Station

Opposition fighters regained, in the early hours of Tuesday, positions lost to Assad terrorists, east of the capital Damascus, Orient News correspondent reported.

Fighters of al-Rahman Corps have regained all lost-to-Assad positions, including al-Abbasiyeen Bus Station, says Orient News correspondent Hadi al-Munajed.

After a day of calm on Monday, which followed fierce bombardment by Assad jets on opposition locations in Jobar neighborhood where the whole offensive started, opposition fighters withdrew to regroup, according to our correspondent.

As clashes continue near al-Abbasiyeen Bus Station opposition fighters said they destroyed an Assad T-72 tank.

Also, an Assad warplane was fired at and hit in the sky of Jobar neighborhood. The plane was not downed but was directly hit.

Late on Monday, opposition fighting groups have said that Phase ‎II of their offensive on Assad terrorists’ locations ‎and military zones inside Damascus is soon to start.

On Sunday, opposition fighters launched a surprise attack on Assad terrorists’ positions in Jobar neighborhood. They gained more ground, liberating the strategic al-Abbasiyeen Bus Station, near al-Abbasiyeen Square.
