Damascus Wednesday attacks: Ahrar al-Sham condemns, Tahrir al-Sham denies responsibility
Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement, a main opposition fighting faction in Syria, condemned on Wednesday the attack on Assad Palace of Justice in Damascus which claimed the lives of dozens of people and wounded scores, accusing Assad regime of standing behind the deadly attack.

In a statement published on the movement’s social media platforms, Ahrar al-Sham said that Assad regime was responsible for suicide attack which hit the Palace of Justice in the heart of Damascus, reiterating that it is not unusual for the regime to carry out such attacks, as it used to do back in the 1980s.

The regime aims at gaining the support of the international community in what the Assad regime calls “the war on terror,” according to the statement.

The statement added that this attack comes as people are celebrating the sixth anniversary of the Syrian revolution. The regime wants to distort the image of the revolution and its supporters.

It is well-known that opposition fighters carry out their military operations against Assad terrorists’ gatherings and military barracks, while Assad regime accuses opposition of carrying out attacks that target innocent civilians, the statement added.

In the same context, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham denied any responsibility for the attacks which hit the capital Damascus yesterday, reiterating that its targets had been only the security branches and military barracks of Assad regime and its allies.

On Wednesday, an explosion hit the Assad Palace of Justice in Damascus, killing 30 people and injuring 60 inside the building. Later, another explosion hit al-Rabweh, northwest of Damascus.
