Orient News correspondent Feras Karam reported that “Russian warplanes targeted al-Hmeirat town in Hama northern countryside with several airstrikes, leading to the death of 8 civilians and the injury of dozens, mostly women and children,” noting that the death toll is expected to rise as many of the injured suffer from critical conditions.
Karam then stated that “Russian warplanes also targeted al-Mostareeha town, north-west of Hama, leading to several civilians being killed and injured,” adding that the Russian military escalation also targeted three other towns.
The latest Russian military assault comes in parallel with the start of Geneva talks between the delegations of the opposition and Assad regime. Russia has perpetrated a number of massacres in Hama, Damascus and Daraa countryside since the start of the talks on Thursday and until today.
In addition, Russia continues to bolster Assad regime and its foreign Shiite militias with their vicious assault on east of Damascus. Within the past three days, the death toll has exceeded 30. Activists reported the injury of dozens of civilians in al-Qaboon neighborhood after Assad snipers encircled the area.
Assad terrorists and Lebanese Hezbollah militia have launched an extensive offense on al-Qaboon area, northeast of the capital Damascus. Assad’s military escalation comes in the light of its failure during the last weeks to break into the cities and towns of Damascus eastern Ghouta, which have incurred the regime and its allies great losses in lives and materiel.
