Ferocious clashes broke out Thursday morning in al-Mensheyya neighborhood in Daraa, south of Syria, between opposition fighters and Assad terrorists, amid artillery shelling by the latter.

Intense clashes are taking place in al-Mensheyya neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa, while Assad regime’s heavy artillery and surface-to-surface (Fiel) missiles are pounding civilians’ homes, Orient News correspondent reported.

Assad terrorists are trying to recapture what they have recently lost after opposition’s advances in al-Mensheyya neighborhood following a military offensive by the opposition, our correspondent said, adding that Assad terrorists are using civilians as human shields.

Opposition fighters retook the initiative and launched counter attacks in Daraa al-Balad, sending a VBIED to hit Assad terrorists and Iran-backed militias stationed there.

An Assad Shilka vehicle was destroyed by opposition on Sajneh front, west of al-Mensheyya neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad, according to al-Bunyan al-Marsous Operations Room (BMOR), the operations room coordinating the current offensive in Daraa.

On Sunday (February 12), opposition fighters announced the start of an offensive in Daraa called "Death over ‎Kneeling Down".‏

BMOR said the operation was launched in Daraa al-Balad because Assad terrorists have never abode by the declared ceasefire, in addition to their attempts to advance on many fronts in Daraa.
