US-led coalition jets perpetrated on Friday a new massacre against civilians in Raqqa countryside, killing and injuring dozens.
Airstrikes carried out by a fighter jet of the international coalition led by the United States targeted Tishreen Farm, located about 18 km north of Raqqa, claiming the lives of 14 civilians, including women and children and injuring many others, activists said.
The casualty toll is likely to increase as the exact number of deaths and injuries is not known, according to local sources. Critical injury cases are reported, and several people are still missing under the rubble.
Meanwhile, Russian Defense Ministry said Tu-95MS long-range bombers have launched cruise missile strikes on ’ISIS targets’ near the city of Raqqa.
The massacre comes as US-led coalition fighter jets are providing air coverage to the so-called Syria Democratic Force (SDF), whose main element is the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) militiamen, in the fight to capture the ISIS-held Raqqa.
The US-backed SDF has recently launched phase III of an operation it code-named “Wrath of Euphrates” which it said aimed to force ISIS out of its de facto capital, Raqqa.
