Poisoning cases in Damascus due to water contamination
Hospitals in the Syrian capital Damascus witnessed a rise in poisoning cases resulting from water contamination, medical sources told Orient Net.

Locals from Damascus also confirmed suffering different illnesses ranging from severe diarrhea, fever and enteritis.

This comes after Damascus’ and its suburbs’ main drinking water source, al-Fijeh Spring, was shelled by Hezbollah and Assad terrorists in a campaign that targeted the Damascus western countryside where the water spring is located. Among huge damage caused to the shelled town, the campaign destroyed large parts of the spring facility’s water pumps and deprived thousands of civilians from drinking water.

As a result of the scarcity of drinking water in the capital, Assad regime’s Consumer General Establishment saw an increase in its bottled water sales. Sold amounts exceeded 150 thousand cartons of water bottles since the start of the drinking water crisis in Damascus. The one-liter bottle is sold for $ 13, according to local sources.
