At least 35 civilians, including women and children, were killed Tuesday after Russian airstrikes hit al-Salihiya village in Deir ez Zoor countryside.
Local sources told Orient News that the indiscriminate airstrikes targeted neighborhoods, villages and towns in Deir ez Zoor’s eastern and western countryside.
Russian news agency Interfax confirmed the attack saying that Russia had conducted a new strike on Deir ez Zoor.
The Russian defense ministry said on its website that six Russian bombers conducted a strike on ISIS targets in Deir ez Zoor.
Russian Tu-22M3 long-range bombers took off from Russia, flew over territories of Iraq and Iran, and carried out the strike, the ministry said on its website.
