The Assad regime’s envoy to the Russia and Turkey-led talks in Kazakhstan said today the offensive against Ain al-Fijeh, the main source of water for the capital Damascus, will continue.
Bashar al-Ja’afari, Assad UN ambassador’s words came despite the sponsors of the talks pledged to reinforce the ceasefire and put a mechanism in place to ensure compliance.
Assad terrorists have never stopped the use of barrel bombs and cluster bombs on Wadi Barada and AIn al-Fijeh. The indiscriminate attacks inflicted heavy damage on the water pumping station and rendered it out of service.
Ongoing Assad attacks were reported Tuesday around the flashpoint area of Ain al-Fijeh in Wadi Barada (the valley of Barada) while the Astana conclusion communique was being read.
