Turkey, Russia start joint air operation in Syria
Turkey’s and Russia’s warplanes have conducted their first joint air operation against ISIS terrorist group in Syria, the state-run Anadolu Agency said Wednesday citing a Russian military commander.

Quoting Lieutenant-General Sergey Rudskoy, the agency reported that a total of 36 ISIS targets were hit in al-Bab city, northeast of Aleppo, as a part of the joint military air operation of Turkey and Russia.

Russian warplanes of type Su-24, Su-25 and Su-35 as well as Turkish F-16 and F-4 warplanes conducted airstrikes as part of the operation, the Russian commander told Anadolu, adding that the joint operation was highly effective.

Turkish military announced on January 12 that Turkey and Russia had signed an agreement allowing them to coordinate air operations in Syria.
