Residential areas in the city were targeted with vacuum bombs, according to Orient News correspondent Saifullah al-Ahmad. The injured were taken to makeshift hospitals which suffer shortage in medical materials.
The initial casualty toll reported was one civilian with a number of injuries, including some critical ones. Soon after that, the death toll rose to two civilians as one of the critically injured succumbed to wounds.
Vacuum bombs, dropped by Assad warplanes, also targeted al-Farhaniya al-Gharbiya village in Homs northern countryside, while rocket attacks hit Burj Qa’i village. The rockets came from the pro-Assad Akrad Dasniya village, our correspondent said.
These attacks come as Assad regime continue to violate the countrywide ceasefire, brokered by Turkey and Russia, declared on December 30.
