Opposition repels foreign militias attacks in eastern Ghouta

Fierce clashes took place on Sunday in Damascus eastern countryside between Assad terrorists and allied mercenaries on the one side, and opposition fighters on the other, where the latter were able to regain control over a number of positions, Orient News correspondent reported.

Opposition fighting factions captured positions near the Missile Battalion in Hazrama, hours after Assad terrorists had advanced to the area, according to activists.

Assad terrorists carried out a surprise fierce attack on the battalion using a big number of armored and four-wheel drive vehicles, field sources told Orient Net. This coincided with intense artillery shelling and targeting the area with a number of surface-to-surface missiles, the sources added.

Opposition fighters, however, retook initiative and repelled the attack, killing 12 Assad terrorists and destroying two tanks and a Shilka vehicle.

After that, Al-Rahman Corps, along with Ahrar al-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam, were able to fully control the battalion.
