Euphrates Shield “neutralizes” 21 ISIS terrorists in al-Bab
Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions backed by the Turkish Army “neutralized” 21 ISIS terrorists on Friday in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, Anadolu news agency reported citing a statement from the Turkish military.

According to the statement, FSA fighters hit 156 ISIS positions, including shelters, buildings and vehicles. Turkish warplanes bombed 12 ISIS targets in al-Bab city, Suflaniyyah, and Qabr al-Maqri in northern Syria.

Turkish military sources usually use the word “neutralized” to mean that the target was either killed or captured.

On 24 August, Turkey-backed FSA factions started Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria and have since liberated the cities of Jarablus and al-Raei in addition to dozens of villages in Aleppo countryside. FSA fighters have been advancing towards al-Bab and are now on the outskirts of the city.
