Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Barack Obama discussed Tuesday the Syrian ceasefire and the fight against ISIS, Anadolu news agency cited presidential sources as saying.
Obama president appreciated Turkey’s efforts on a nationwide ceasefire deal which many hope will be a pathway to political negotiations for a sustainable peace in Syria, the agency added.
The ceasefire brokered by Turkey and Russia took effect last Friday.
Erdogan and Obama also discussed the fight against ISIS and other terror groups in the region and agreed on more cooperation on a counter terrorism campaign.
