Russian-Assad warplanes targeted Idlib in northern Syria with multiple airstrikes on Tuesday in a further violation of the ceasefire, Orient News correspondent reported.
The airstrikes hit the village of Shughr in Jisr al-Shughoor, Kanasfarah in Jabal al-Zawiyah, Khan Sheikhoun and the outskirts of Idlib city. At least one civilian was killed in Khan Sheikhoun while others were injured.
A countrywide ceasefire in Syria went into effect at midnight on Thursday (2200GMT), after Turkey, Russia and opposition fighting groups reached a deal in the Turkish capital Ankara. According to the deal, Turkey and Russia would act as guarantor countries for the implementation of the ceasefire.
