US senator: More sanctions prepared on Russia over cyberattacks
During his visit to Kyiv, US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said Washington was preparing to impose a new set of sanctions against Russia due to the Kremlin’s alleged involvement in cyber attacks against US political institutions, Radio Svoboda reported.

"Next year we are going to present new sanctions… which will hit not only the Federal Security Service or Main Intelligence Directorate , but Putin himself and his entourage,” Graham stated.

The senator said he hopes US President-elect will agree to the new sanctions.

Trump, however, has rejected claims that Russia was behind the cyberattacks against the Democratic Party in the lead up to the US election.

On Thursday, US President Barack Obama imposed new sanctions against Russia over the cyberattacks. 35 Russian diplomats were expelled from the US, and sanctions were imposed against the FSB and GRU.
