Euphrates Shield “neutralizes” 26 ISIS terrorists in al-Bab
Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters backed by the Turkish army “neutralized” 26 ISIS terrorists on Friday after targeting ISIS positions in al-Bab city in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, Anadolu news agency reported citing the Turkish Armed Forces.

FSA fighters targeted 222 ISIS positions, including shelters, defensive positions, weapons and cars while Turkish warplanes hit 17 ISIS positions including an armed vehicle and three garages used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the Turkish military said.

Turkish military sources usually use the word “neutralized” to mean that the target was either killed or captured.

Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army factions have been advancing towards the ISIS stronghold of al-Bab city east of Aleppo and are now on the outskirts of the city.

On 24 August, Turkey-backed FSA factions started Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria and have since liberated the cities of Jarablus and al-Raei in addition to dozens of villages in Aleppo countryside.
