Russian jets raise Damascus countryside’s death toll to 24

Death toll in Damascus eastern countryside, as a result of Russian airstrikes on residential areas, rose to 24, Orient News correspondent reported.
In Douma, the number of casualties rose to 13 after Russian warplanes carried out an airstrike firing 5 missiles on a popular market. A mosque in Douma city was also targeted, causing physical damage to the mosque’s building. Morning attacks had left seven civilians killed in Douma.

In Erbin, four civilians, from one family, were killed after a missile, fired by a Russian warplane, targeted an elementary school, while in both Saqba and Zamalka two civilians were killed.
In Harasta, three civilians met their end, as a result of Russian air raids on residential areas.
This comes as Turkey and Russia declared reaching an agreement to implement a countrywide ceasefire in Syria starting midnight on Friday December 30.
