Internally displaced persons suffer as snow storm hits in Syria

Internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in makeshift accommodation in Syria try to cope as a winter storm brings snow to the country.

"It is very hard to live here. This area used to be a farming land. People are paralyzed as mud prevents them from getting out of their sector of makeshift tents. They also gather in one tent to spare the diesel used for heating. No one turns his eye to us. Yesterday a tent fell over the heads of its people." one of the IDPs in Idlib countryside spoke to Smart news agency.

Two children died Friday when 70 tents of IDPs collapsed in Harem, Idlib due to heavy snow, Orient News correspondent reported.

Heavy snowfalls and freezing temperatures aggravated the suffering of Syrians who lack proper clothing and means for heating.
