Qatar, Turkey urge int’l community to end Syria suffering

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on Monday in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings.
During their meeting, the two leaders focused on what is happening in Syria and the plight of the Syrian people amid the stalled international solutions to put an end to the conflict.
Both sides stressed the importance for the international community to exert more efforts to end the inhuman suffering and stop the siege and the forced systematic displacement perpetrated by Assad regime against its people.
They also stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive and lasting political solution to end the crisis in Syria in accordance with the Security Council resolutions (2254) and (2268) and Geneva-1 communique.
