Russia calls for an extension to Syria ceasefire
Russians said they were ready to extend Syria truce, which is set to expire Friday evening, for a further 72 hours, despite accusing the US and opposition fighters of not fulfilling the deal, AFP reported.

"We are prepared to extend the cessation of hostilities for a further 72 hours," senior Russian officer Viktor Poznikhir said at a televised briefing.  Poznikhir added that Moscow was waiting for Washington to uphold its end of the deal.

In the interim, Russian Ministry of Defense said on Friday that Assad regime returned its ’fighters’ and arms to Aleppo’s Castello Road, after its ’fighters’ were "shot at by opposition”.

This statement is the third statement by Russia during the past 24 hours regarding Assad regime’s withdrawal from Castello.

It is worthy to remind that Viktor Poznikhir said on Thursday that Assad regime had started to withdraw military equipment in order to create a demilitarized zone.
