US Marines troops in al-Raqqa’s Tel Abyad
A division from the US Marines reached on Thursday the city of Tel Abyad, to the north of al-Raqqa city, on the Syrian-Turkish border, Orient Net learned from special sources.

The division entered the western part of the Tel Abyad Thursday afternoon, coming from Ein Arab/Kobane in Aleppo eastern countryside, Kurdish sources told Orient Net.

The US troops entered the city accompanied by leaders from the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD). A convoy of fifteen vehicles transported the troops. Some vehicles transported the leaders and others the troops. This coincided with American reconnaissance drones and Apache helicopters hovering in the sky, SMART News Agency reported sources in Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) as saying.

As soon as the US troops entered, they erected an observation point on the hilltop of al-Monbateh village, which is 2 kilometers far from Tel Abyad. The American flag was flown on Post Office building in al-Iskan neighborhood of the city, according to activists.
