Russia has expressed deep concerns over the advances made by the Turkish army in Syria, warning that such actions could worsen the situation as it may be considered a violation of what it called the "Syrian sovereignty."
"Such advances, which are being made without coordination with the Damascus authorities and without the approval of the UN Security Council, could further complicate the military and political situation in Syria," the Russian foreign ministry’s statement said.
The Turkish military launched an operation in Syria on August 24 to clear the Turkish border from ISIS.
