Assad to burn al-Mo’addamyya if it does not surrender
An opposition’s committee in the Assad-besieged Damascus suburb of al-Mo’addamiyya started today preparing lists of opposition fighters who do not want to surrender to Assad regime, Orient Net learnt from special sources.

The process comes as a preparatory step before taking the opposition fighters to the north of Syria like what happened to their fellow Syrians in Darayya.

The committee is supposed to end its work within the coming 24 hours. These developments came after a meeting held between the committee and Assad regime’s representatives who threaten to destroy and burn the town if the agreement is not implemented as soon as possible.

The agreement came to mention many points, the underneath ones are the most significant:

1-Registering names of opposition fighters who do not want to lay down arms to be displaced to the north.

2-Freezing the settlement until the last opposition fighter leaves the town.

3- Setting up an Assad office for conscription in al-Mo’adamayya to follow the young men for Assad military service.

4- Handing over all kinds of weapons in the city to Assad representatives.

5-  Running the security file will be the task of the defectors from Assad regime in the city.

"Assad regime aims at repeating the scenario of what happened in the Old Homs and Darayya of enforced displacement in Mo’adamayya, one of the committee’s members said on condition of anonymity.

"This is the policy of “starve or surrender” by the terrorists of Assad regime who besiege the Damascus’ suburbs," he added.

Al-Moaddamyya has been under Assad regime’s siege for more than three years, with residents of the opposition-held area deprived of food and aid supplies while also being prevented from leaving due to heavy shelling and bombardment in addition to the siege laid on the area.
