Douma: Girl killed by Assad barrel bombs while looking through window
A 14-year-old Naseem al-Barghooth was standing today in her house when she was killed by Assad regime’s airstrikes in the campaign which hit Damascus eastern countryside, Orient News correspondent said.

Naseem is from Douma in Eastern Ghouta, where just today, Monday, 8 civilians were laid to rest. They died in airstrikes, artillery shelling, bombardment, and attacks with surface-to-surface missiles carried out by Assad terrorists.

Naseem was sitting on a sofa next to a window in their second-storey house when the house was hit with a barrel bomb that brought a wall down. As a result Naseem fell and suffered a severe injuries in her hand and lost her sight before passing away. Naseem’s sister also fell and suffered serious injuries. She is now treated in one of Douma’s hospitals.

What remains of the sofa is still covered with Naseem’s blood. It stands as testimony to another story of destruction inflicted on the Syrian people with all kinds of weapons. And the most lethal of those weapons is probably the inability of the international community to act as they proclaim.

The local council of Douma has today suspended its work and declared Douma a disaster area. This comes after 8 civilians have died including 3 women and 2 children and many more injured after 8 airstrikes by the regime’s air force. The strikes targeted civilian areas, and were followed by shelling with surface-to-surface missiles launched from mountains surrounding the Assad terrorists-besieged city.
