Mortar bombs and cylinder bombs were also launched on residential areas from Assad regime’s main military strongholds, The Fourth Division and al-Mezzah Military Airport, which are very close to the city.
In Damascus eastern countryside, Assad regime’s jets attacked Harasta and Bezina. The indiscriminate air attacks destroyed many buildings and shops in the area, no casualties were reported.
Assad regime’s siege on Darayya and its neighbouring towns like Khan al-Sheeh has left tens of thousands of civilians mostly children - without food or medicine.
People in these areas tell media outlets that most medicine, fuel and flour has almost run out, and food prices have doubled in the past few days. They expect it to get even worse in the coming days.
"We agree that the delivery of humanitarian assistance must begin or resume – depending on the case – in Douma, East Harasta, Arbeen, Zamalka, Darayya, Fouah, Kefraya, Madaya, Zabadin, Muadhamiya, Yarmouk, Zabadani, and Kafr Batna. And these deliveries will continue as long as the need persists. And starting on June 1st, if the UN is denied humanitarian access to any of these designated areas, the ISSG calls on the World Food Program to immediately carry out a program for air bridges and air drops for all of those areas in need,” the U.S. Secretary of State said last Tuesday at the end of the International Syria Support Group’s (ISSG) talks in Vienna.
