It will be good if Mr. Velayati can be more down to earth and explain what he means by “Takfiri terrorist groups’. If he means ISIS, the next required explanation is what are Iran and the other forces including Russia, Iran’s Hezbollah and Assad forces doing? All this time and such powers could not defeat ISIS? Why is Iran in Syria then?
If by Takfiris he means the mercenaries fighting in Syria, again he is asked to explain why Iran has sent them to Syria?
It seems that Iran created the bugaboo to scare others but became itself scared of it as it became out of its control.
Iran now, afraid of leaving Syria with nothing due to certain plans in the mind of Putin or possibly Assad, is trying to implant the concocted fear implying that these Takfiris dander far exceeds Syria.
Velayati claims that those Takfiris also target the so-called axis of resistance. Here one would like to ask: what have those Takfiris to do with resistance? Why will they target it if we assume for the sake of argument that it exits in the first place?
When one listens to Iranian officials talk about a resistance, one cannot help but recall their talking big about their control of the four Arab capitals Sanaa, Beirut, Baghdad and Damascus. This is probably what they mean by resistance.
This axis of resistance has never proven to be one for resisting that who occupied the land and usurped the rights viz. Israel. On the contrary, what Iran is doing in Syria plays directly into the hands of Israel, not to say that it is in coordination with it.
Iran is an axis of evil rather than of resistance.
