GCC chief meets Syria fact-finding cmte delegation
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashed Al-Zayani, received at his office in Riyadh Wednesday the delegation, led by Paulo Sergio Pinero, of the International independent commission for fact-finding on the situation in Syria, commissioned by the Geneva-based Human Rights Council, Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) reported.

During the meeting, the situations of refugees, and immigrants from Syria, the world efforts exerted to deliver humanitarian relief items for them and provision of human protection for the needy were discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Secretary General for political affairs of the GCC Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaisheq.

The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic was established on 22 August 2011 by the Human Rights Council through with a mandate to investigate all alleged violations of international human rights law since March 2011 in the Syrian Arab Republic, Emirates News agency (WAM) reported.
