Symphonies, celebrations and exchanging greetings while Syria is being slaughtered.
The symphony was in Palmyra; the city which was the victim of agreements concluded between Assad regime and ISIS; Assad pretended to be fighting ISIS some months ago when the latter was handed the city without any resistance; some months later, ISIS gave the city back to Assad with a well-produced scenario. To be convincing in this black comedy whose protagonists are Assad, ISIS and Putin, many innocent civilians were the scapegoats of the operation.
ISIS defectors have told Sky News that Palmyra was handed back to Assad forces by ISIS as part of a series of cooperation agreements going back years.
The documents obtained by Sky News revealed that the Assad regime’s recapture of the ancient city from ISIS militants was apparently part of a pre-arranged deal that allowed ISIS to remove its heavy weaponry from the city before withdrawing.
The Russian officer, who has participated in killing Syrians and planning more vicious plots to support Assad at the expense of Syrian people, is considered a “hero” by Assad and Putin. Adding mockery to misery, an Assad loyal film producer, who is no more than a failure, expressed his intension to make a film about this criminal “hero”.
Assad’s premier, as if Syria were celebrating peace, is congratulating his Russian counterpart. Mr. Premier seems to have no knowledge about the suffering of Syrians and instead of addressing their plight, he sends congratulations.
Not only this but in his cable of congratulation, the premier talked on behalf of Syrian people and thanked Russia for its “help” and “support” of the Syrian people.
No One would quarrel with Mr. Premier if “Syrian people” mean Assad, his junta and his echelon in addition to those “Syrians” who chose to be the enemies of the Syrian people.
No rational person will thank the killer for burning their country, killing its people and displacing them.
For Assad and his coterie the killing of Syrians is a wedding ceremony that deserves all kinds of celebrations because the more Syrians are murdered, besieged, arrested and displaced, the more Assad will feel secure in a country whose people want nothing but to oust him.
