A mother and her three children fall victim to Russian airstrikes

A mother and her three young children were killed on Saturday after Russian warplanes targeted their town of Benesh in northern Idlib countryside, Orient correspondent reported.

The warplanes dropped interstitial missiles on the residential neighborhoods of Benesh leading to the killing of the three children.

The children were immediately killed upon impact. Syria’s Civil Defense team retrieved their bodies from beneath the rubble.

Syria’s Civil Defense team stated that the mother was still alive when they recovered her from under the rubble.

The team quickly transported her to the nearest hospital to receive treatment, along with dozens of other injured civilians. 

However, she succumbed to her wounds Sunday morning.

Activists pointed out that there are urgent demands from the medical facilities for blood donations, the missiles caused grave destruction to the buildings and homes of the civilians.

The activists explained that Benesh is under al-Fouaa-Zabadani deal – which was signed in September 2015 to end the fighting between opposition groups and Assad and his allies – however, it has not seen a clear sky from Assad and Russian warplanes.
