GCC condemns Assad regime’s bombing of displaced persons’ camp
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has condemned the carnage committed by the Assad regime in a camp for displaced persons in Idlib countryside in air raids which killed 50 civilians and injured hundreds of innocent displaced persons.

Abdul Latif Bin Rashid Al Zayani, GCC Secretary-General, described the bombing of the camp as a heinous crime, considered a criminal act under international laws and humanitarian and ethical principles and something which could amount to a war crime.

"The GCC member states call on the United Nations to quickly launch an investigation into the abhorrent crime and bring the perpetrators to justice," Emirates News Agency quoted Al Zayani as saying in a statement today, calling on the UN Security Council to implement all its relevant resolutions on Syria and compel the Assad regime to comply with UN resolution and respect international laws.

The GCC, Al Zayani affirmed, considers that crimes committed by the Assad regime against the Syrian people and innocent civilians have gone beyond any limit now and must be stopped immediately.

Al Zayani concluded that the GCC appeals to the international community to decry the continuous crimes against the Syrian people.
