The Russians and the Iranians are like Assad regime. They are used to committing massacres and atrocities. They don’t care about their political legacy. The Noble Peace laureate Obama didn’t go to war, but he sat still watching the slaughtering of Syria and Syrians as he did with Gaza and its people before.
No one Syrian demanded him to send troops to help him, but he keeps saying every day that he will not send any troops to Syria. He will not allow supporting opposition fighters with sophisticated weapons. He won’t approve a safe zone for refugees. He won’t coexist with a war criminal like Assad in power. He won’t . . . .
The paradox is that Obama depended first on this war criminal to end his crisis and to turn a reformist. Then he depended on Iran and Russia disregarding their criminal history in order put an end to the Syrian uprising. They all worked for one project which is to destroy Syria and kill Syrians for the sake of Assad regime. They forced the political process to suit Assad, but the problem is that Assad himself has forgotten how to remain in power without killing Syrians.
The conspiracy between the four burners of Aleppo has become public after it was implicit even if they exchanged pressures and political games. The American side is playing with them in order to show itself managing the game and they are playing with it for the same purpose.
The secret remains in the possession of Assad and Iran. They have no feelings or problems with their option in carrying out the annihilation. They rather dragged Putin who doesn’t have any problem in getting involved in this mass killing but he preferred to attract Obama in order to give this genocide some sort of “international legitimacy”.
This implies forcing the opposition to accept keeping Assad in power within a “political process” under the title of a “collective government” so when Kerry said that the Syrian conflict has become out of control, he must have meant the three other partners before any other part.
After the holocaust in Aleppo became an international issue, the US thought it was time to end its silence. Kerry came to Geneva to see the impacts of the 10 ten-day bombardment campaign. Before that he got that ceasefire agreement in Damascus and Latakia from Lavrov. So, if the ceasefire proved to survive the Russians may promise to discuss to renew the ceasefire agreement in Aleppo. This compromising logic can’t make a real ceasefire that is needed to resume the peace talks in Geneva. It rather serves the purpose of measuring the opposition’s readiness to give up their demand in removing Assad from power.
