Fallon: exodus of refugees won’t stop until Russian airstrikes end
UK Defence Minister Michael Fallon called on Russia to end airstrikes in Syria immediately, Bloomberg Business reported.

“If they want to see a cease fire and bring this war to an end, then they’ve got to stop airstrikes on the civilian population,” Fallon told Bloomberg’s Manus Cranny on “Countdown.”

“Russia has to recognize that if we are to have any kind of settlement in Syria then the war must come to an end,” he added.

Fallons said that the settlement is welcome but it is tentative and it needs to be implemented in full, adding that “Russia in particular needs to stop bombing the moderate Syrian opposition and help lift the siege of Aleppo.”

He argued that Russia must end its bombing on Aleppo, especially on innocent civilians, on mosques, food shops and “stop their attempt at terrorizing the population in northern Syria.”

“Around 70 to 80% of the Russian air strikes have not been against the DAESH terrorists at all, they have been against the civilian population,” Fallon said.

“The exodus of refugees won’t stop until the air strikes stop.”
