33 refugees drowned trying to reach Greece
Twenty two refugees attempting to reach Greece have drowned after their boat capsized off the Turkish coast, AA reported.

The boat capsized in the Bay of Edremit, which is just a short distance away from the Greek island of Lesbos, AP reported.

Earlier, Dogan news agency said the bodies of 11 refugees were found further south, near the Aegean resort of Dikili.

The Turkish news agency reported that 11 had died in a separate boat accident, bringing the total number of dead on Monday to 33.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says 374 people have died so far this year while trying to reach Greece.
