Muslim to al-Jaafari: Kurdish issue will destroy Syria

Salih Muslim, the co-chairman of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), compared the Kurdish issue with cancer as he responded to the comments made by the head of the Assad delegation in Geneva, Bashar al-Jaafari, when he said that the Kurdish parties should relinquish their fantasies and take a Panadol pill.

Muslim added that “addressing such a major issue that has spun the Middle East in a huge turmoil, cannot be solved by taking a pill.”

He continued saying that if the Kurdish issue is not resolved, then it will destroy Syria entirely,” explaining the method to solving it is by conducting a surgical operation.

Syrian journalist Faisal Qasem proposed a question concerning al-Jaafari’s remarks to the Kurds: “Have the Kurds realized now that Assad has been using them to derail the revolution, no more, no less, and that he will never allow them to self-manage, let alone grant them independence.”
