Hezbollah’s arrogance at Lebanon’s expense

Hezbollah’s arrogance at Lebanon’s expense
Nasrallah boasted record victory in Lebanon, but how is it considered victory for Lebanon to reach this state? Is it victory for the presidential vacuum to continue, for the government to remain closed and to have a crippling economy? What is this victory in a country that has drowned in waste, corruption and social misery?

Is it a victory when Nasrallah sends young boys to fight in Syria, besiege cities and starve the Syrian people to death? What victory is it to contribute to Assad in the flow of more than a million Syrian refugees into Lebanon under miserable conditions?

Nasrallah’s boasting regarding his party’s victory over March 14, falls in the method adopted by the party on May 7, 2008, when he attacked his own people in an attempt to flame a Sunni-Shiite sectarian strife which its consequences are still strongly present in a country that lives in the shadow of “Hezbollah’s victory.”

Nasrallah’s continued mentioning of his support to the candidates – Michel On and Sleiman Franjiye – reflects the reality which is that Hezbollah is pushing for a presidential vacuum to continue. For he does not want to risk having a president who could at any moment try to put an end to his party’s influence in the Lebanese enterprises.

Hezbollah is relieved now with its victory on March 14 at the expense of the country and all of its people, not just the team of March 14 but also the followers of Hezbollah and those who fight in its ranks. The death of these young men is for the sake of the Secretary General of a party that serves the interest of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Syria and Lebanon.

Nasrallah fears from any Lebanese personnel reaching the presidency post, even if that person was close to him, because he wants to remain having full authority all for himself, to place his influence wherever he desires and to remain bolstering Assad and working for the interests of the Iranian government.

So if this was “Hezbollah’s victory,” then its aim is to destroy the future of Lebanon which could have been a promising future for the young generations.
