HNC: No negotiations with Assad regime before stopping bombardment and lifting siege
Syrian High Negotiations Committee (HNC) spokesperson Riyad Naasan Agha said today that the opposition did not come to Geneva to discuss ISIS and Assad regime.

“We came to show the world the crimes of Assad and his militias,” Naasan Agha said.

“The regime and his allies escalated their military operation on the occasion of Geneva talks,” he added, stressing that “there are people being killed by Assad regime and his allies by all forms, from starvation and bombing to various forms of abuse and murder.”

Naasan Agha pointed out during a brief news conference from Geneva that the case in Syria was "a revolution of the people against Assad regime and not ISIS against the regime."

Salem al-Meslet, HNC member said that Assad regime and Russia committed many massacres against Syrian civilians, expressing his wonder at the world silence.

"Had those massacres occurred in other places, the perpetrator who have been held accountable," al-Meslet added.

Al-Meslet explained that the offensive launched by Assad terrorists on Aleppo "threatens Geneva talks and the civil society should assume its responsibilities to protect civilians."

On his part, member of the Syrian negotiation delegation to Geneva talks, Munther Makhos, pointed out that the HNC is "the only representative of the Syrian people."

"The parties falsely calling themselves opposition figures who are closer to the regime must be added to the regime’s delegation,” Makhos said.

Makhos added that "the implementation of UN Resolution 2254 is the only solution to stop the Syrian bloodshed, and the negotiations with the Assad regime will be focused on the formation of a transitional government to be followed by elections."
