PYD arrests 150 Syrians to forcibly recruit in Aleppo’s Manbij
The PKK-affiliated Syria Democratic Forces (SDF/PYD) militia launched on Monday (November 6) a crackdown on tens of young men  in Aleppo Eastern countryside’s Manbij.

Orient News’s correspondent, Khalid Abo al-Majed, said, "at least 150 young men were detained by the PYD, and they would be forcibly driven to serve in the ranks of the organization".

The step triggered a wave of anger among civilians who took to the streets to protest against the conscription tactic.

Meanwhile, people appealed to Manbaj’s Free Syrian Army and Ahrar Sham Movement to intervene to save them from what they called the PYD’s oppressive practices.

On its side, Manbaj’s military office issued a statement in which it called on people of Manbaj and its countryside to reject the conscription, indicating that PYD was seeking to push locals into confrontation with their fellow Syrians in the Free Syrian Army.

It is worthy to note that owners of shops in Manbij announced a strike on Sunday to protest against PYD’s forced conscription, vowing to escalate in the days to come.
