Assad yields to demands of detainees in Hama’s central prison
“Assad regime released 30 political prisoners from Hama’s central prison,” Orient correspondent Feras Karam stated, explaining that it is “part of an agreement which will see 200 prisoners released to the opposition fighters in the opposition-held areas in exchange for ending the prisoners’ strike.”

“The detainees are, until now, on strike in the central prison until Assad regime comply with all of their demands,” Karam stated.

“Those held prisoners were able to take control of the prison’s premises and take into their custody the warden of the prison, a brigade of the prison administration and three in the ranks of a captain,” Orient correspondent reported, adding that “they were all released as a goodwill gesture while the political prisoners kept eight members of the police to ensure the implementation of their demands.”

On Tuesday, the prisoners of conscience inside the prison released a videotape showing Assad terrorists preparing to storm in to the prison as the prisoners urged help from the UN, international organizations and bodies dealing with human rights and detainees.

A video published online on Monday showed the beginning of the strike after the regime’s terrorists transported a number of detainees to Sednaya Prison near Damascus to be executed.

The prisoners of conscience in the central prison in Hama, totaling 830, are subject to the process of detention without trial, most of whom are threatened with execution.
